Sunset Ceramics is a state of the art crown and bridge lab located in the geographical center of British Columbia run by me, Dental Technician Bernd Schoenhardt.
I am familiar with all the intricacies of crown and bridge fabrication as well as working with various implant systems. My passion though is dealing with complex and aesthetically challenging cases involving all ceramic crowns and veneers. I am using the E-max series by Ivoclar for my All Ceram cases.

I have been a dental technician for over twenty-five years now, having received my initial training in Germany, where I was born. From 1990 to 1996 I worked for Dr. Keith Compton, a prostodontist and professor of dentistry at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton. I was his in house technician and some of the pictures shown in this portfolio are from the many cases we completed together.
My wife our two boys and I left Germany in 1990 chasing the "German dream" of wide open spaces and living surrounded by spectacular nature. Our starting point was Edmonton where we became canadianized. Good live, good times and good friends, lots of BBQs and campfires. In 1996 we moved to BC to realize our dream. We became the proud owners and operators of Tachik Lake Resort and Saddle Bar Lodge. Made more good friends had great times and did a lot of fishing. But as spectacular as it was out by the lake it was hard to make a living. That is why I went back into dentistry and opened my own lab- Sun Set Ceramics - in 2003. I am tremendously enjoying being my own master and doing what I always loved to do – restoring smiles!
